SMALLER LEARNING COMMUNITIES Program Manager Ms. Toni Dixon-McFarland E-mail Toni.Dixon-McFarland@pgcps.org The US Department of Education’s Smaller Learning Communities Grants Program has provided funds to assist Potomac high school to plan, implement and expand smaller learning communities (SLCs). Key strategies include creating schools within schools, career academies, developing teacher advisory systems, and other innovations, designed to create a more personalized high school experience in order to improve student achievement and performance.
