Welcome to another successful school year. Welcome to another year of educational promise! After achieving unprecedented success during the 2008-2009 school year, I have assembled a team of conscientious educators that are focused on providing your young person with the skills to succeed in the 21st Century. Being the only Middle Schools in Prince George’s County to achieve Adequate Yearly Progress and leave the School Improvement phase, we are poised to eclipse that success by employing a laser-focus on rigorous instruction embedded in relevant learning experiences, in an atmosphere which will continue to nurture productive relationships between Student, Staff and Home. We will remain committed to the three R’s at Walker Mill Middle School, as we view them as the keys to our sustained success. Our three R’s are not Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, but Rigor, Relevance and Relationships. Again, welcome to another year of educational promise where our promise is to arm your young person with the tools they need to excel. Looking forward to partnering with you, Gorman Brown, Principal
